The term blogging has gained much heightened importance in our times. Although this phenomenon has been around for quite some time but new uses of blogs have been derived very recently. As a result blogs have impacted the lives of even those people who have no idea about what they are all about. From politics to entertainment the influence of blogs is evident to those familiar with how they work. Blogosphere is actually the name given to an existing phenomenon related to blogging.

Basically it is a term that was coined by some prominent writers and journalists to explain the interactive journalism that has come about as a result of bloggers that maintain online journals. Many people are unaware that there exists a deep yet symbiotic relation between these online bloggers and the printed content that we see in the press. This is because traditional journalists are bound to take these blogs into consideration for generating ideas and getting the dips on the prevailing public opinion on a particular matter. The result is that their writings are inspired by what goes on in the blogging world because they tend to be closely monitoring them. You will find that many blogs actually have links that lead the reader to a more mainstream article on the same topic.

The point to understand is that there are some ways in which blogging impacts journalism and others in which journalism impacts blogging. The trend however is moving towards blogging gaining the upper hand and having a major influence on journalism. This however does not undermine the value of journalism rather it makes it much more relevant to the people. This is because never before did journalists have the opportunity to listen to public opinion in such great volume at such ease. Blogs however function quite separately from journalism in the respect that all sorts of people are free to write and furthermore people are free to add their comments as well. Journalists hover over these blogs like jackals looking to snatch the bite out of the lion’s mouth. They consolidate blog leads and churn out literary articles that are published for a much wider public. In turn bloggers often make referrals to these articles to illustrate their point of view.

It would be wrong to assume that a blogosphere is something that goes in favor of one while depriving the other. Rather it is a name coined for this naturally existing phenomenon that has come up with the advent of the internet. Hence we find that blogs have impacted the lives of many people in the form of what they read which consequently influences how they perceive the situations to be. In the end their opinions are also concluded with the kind of information that they are being fed. So the hot topics on the blogs are likely to appear in the form of articles in the press and this relationship between the two is known as the blogosphere.
